The Cleveland Browns were hoping Baker Mayfield's success in 2018 with Freddie Kitchens as offensive coordinator would carry over into 2019. Mayfield seemed to take a liking to Kitchens' coaching style and Kitchens appeared to be getting the best out of Mayfield.
Instead, Mayfield did not show any development under Kitchens and had one of the worst statistical seasons of all starting quarterbacks in 2019. Now the question is if the new coaching staff can get Mayfield and his development back on track.
The coaching staff led by Kevin Stefanski will have their work cut out for them because Mayfield did not show fundamental development during his second season.
