County officials not on board with domed stadium plan

The ongoing saga over the future home of the Cleveland Browns grew by another chapter on Sunday.

In a letter to team owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam, Cuyahoga County Council President Pernel Jones Jr. and Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne “affirmed their commitment” to keep the Browns in downtown Cleveland, which the team has called home since its founding in 1946.

In the letter, which was posted on social media, the county executives start to make a case for why building a domed stadium in Brook Park - which appears to be what the Haslams prefer - is bad business for the county:

“The proposal to build a new stadium in Brook Park does not make fiscal sense for Cuyahoga County residents and taxpayers.
