CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - Pierre Woods did all he could to hold back tears when highlights of his former teammate flashed across the Cedar Lee Movie Theater screen.
Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Junior Seau committed suicide in 2012. It was discovered that Seau suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a type of brain damage found in many deceased former NFL players.
"Junior shot himself but it's hard for me to believe that he was himself because he was one of those guys who loved life," said Woods, who played with Seau on the New England Patriots.
