CLEVELAND, Ohio - You might think that professional sports teams have an easier time marketing to customers than most businesses, especially during a winning streak.

But chief information officers from the Cavaliers, Indians and the Browns recently shared with about 100 Northeast Ohio tech leaders that many challenges and opportunities are the same.

It doesn't matter if you're selling widgets, entertainment, products or services, technology is increasingly playing a greater role in attracting and keeping customers. Whether its engaging fans and customers, drawing actionable insights from data, managing security threats or competing for talent, the themes are consistent across the board.
