It was expected when the Cleveland Browns drafted Baker Mayfield first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft that a starting quarterback debate was going to ensue.
The Browns organization has said that Tyrod Taylor will be the team’s starting quarterback in 2018 countless times, even saying it immediately after drafting Mayfield. But the more times someone says there is no competition, the louder the “Mayfield should play this year” crowd gets.
This is a debate that should have already been dead for a while. General manager John Dorsey and head coach Hue Jackson have made it known that Taylor will be the starter for the 2018 season no matter what.
