Cleveland Browns' Terrelle Pryor a bright spot in a dismal season: Bill Livingston

CLEVELAND, Ohio – No position in sports is more important than quarterback in football and none is so revealing of personal character.

Cliches define the position: leader, coach on the field, most of all (cue the music from "Patton" as the tanks roll to the relief of Bastogne) field general.

By reason of handling the ball more than anyone else, the quarterback is the most important man on the field. Coaches sometimes tell a player with an exaggerated sense of his own importance, "Get over yourself." It is especially tough for quarterbacks.
