With the fourth overall pick in the 2018 draft, just three picks after shocking the league with the selection of quarterback Baker Mayfield, the Cleveland Browns selected cornerback Denzel Ward. The former Ohio State Buckeye’s selection got plenty of attention on Twitter and around the league.
Ward was an explosive playmaker who was all over the field on defense for the Buckeyes. With 24 passes defended in his two seasons as a starter, he was consistent in making plays and showing he’s a force to be reckoned with. The pick fills an immediate hole on the roster, especially with the team trading cornerback Jason McCourty this offseason.
