In what was a rather unexpected move, the Cleveland Browns released Greg Robinson on Sunday. Their starting left tackle for the second half of the 2018 season, Robinson entered this year expecting to continue to fill that role.
Not only was he given a contract that could be worth up to $9 million, but Cleveland didn’t bring anyone in who could legitimately push for his job.
That made it even more shocking when his name hit the news ticker as a player the Browns were releasing. That lack of a true contender for his role also led to understandable panic amongst fans in the Dawg Pound.
