The Cleveland Browns entered the 2014 NFL Draft looking like they were in a good spot to begin the turn around of the franchise. The Browns entered the draft with two first round picks, including the fourth overall pick.
The Browns would end up trading the fourth overall pick, sliding down five spots and receiving an extra first rounder in 2015 – which ended up being used on Cameron Erving. With defensive minded head coach Mike Pettine and first-time general manager in Ray Farmer leading the draft, the Browns would move up one spot from the ninth overall selection to eighth and selected cornerback Justin Gilbert.
