This isn’t the same old Cleveland Browns football team anymore. While it was just a preseason game, the Browns took the field on Thursday night and marched quickly for a score.
Baker Mayfield showed great poise, even after a special teams penalty backed them up. He also was pinpoint accurate and fired a touchdown pass to Rashard Higgins to end his night.
As good as that was, the strategy displayed by first-year head coach Freddie Kitchens was the main reason for excitement. He got his team on the field right away and wanted to prove that they could dictate the pace of the game, and they did.
