The NFL and many of their players have been speaking up as of late. With the current political climate we are living in, they are trying to do all they can to raise awareness of social justice issues and Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns can be counted among those trying to use their platform to promote positive change.
Over the weekend, Mayfield let it be known that he will be kneeling for the national anthem — something that has been a hot button issue ever since Colin Kaepernick first took a knee in 2017. Mayfield understands that there are still those who believe strongly that no one should kneel during the anthem but he says he's ok with that, even if it means he loses fans.
