CLEVELAND, Ohio – The demands to move Josh McCown aside and stop blocking Browns fans view of the future were way too loud way too soon.
They look even more knee-jerk with the latest incident involving Johnny Manziel.
That obstructed view wasn't exactly promising anyway, revealing as it did an undersized, undisciplined kid quarterback less than a year out of a treatment program.
Now the Browns have even more reasons to depend on McCown, only one of which is his play over the last 10 quarters.
It was always wrong to look at McCown as the bridge to Manziel.
