When news first broke the Jim Schwartz was being interviewed for the Cleveland Browns head coaching position, much of the reaction was not positive. It mostly had to do with his 29-51 record as a head coach, all with the Detroit Lions from 2009 through 2013.
While Schwartz did have very little success in his time in Detroit, he did make the playoffs one time, and made progress most years from one season to the next.
While Schwartz may not be the best fit for the head gig of the Cleveland Browns, he still would be a great hire for the Browns staff, and should be brought on as the defensive coordinator for whoever does take the head coaching job for the Browns.
