The Cleveland Browns had one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL in 2017. General manager John Dorsey has spent his first off-season with the Browns trying to change that by rebuilding the team’s secondary.
The Browns started off by trading for Damarious Randall before free agency began to be the starting free safety. During free agency, Dorsey signed cornerbacks T.J. Carrie, Terrance Mitchell and E.J. Gaines. The Browns also used the fourth overall pick on cornerback Denzel Ward and a sixth round pick on Simeon Thomas in the 2018 NFL Draft.
