Understanding they need depth at defensive tackle, the Cleveland Browns have tried twice to add veteran help. First, it was Gerald McCoy who was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even before he was released, McCoy was linked to the Browns as there were rumors of a potential trade.
That trade didn’t happen but Cleveland did bring in McCoy, but he ended up signing with the Carolina Panthers. More recently, they tried for Mike Daniels when he was unexpectedly released by the Green Bay Packers. Like McCoy, Daniels visited with the Browns but stayed in his original division and signed with the Detroit Lions.
