Christian Kirksey to undergo surgery for torn pectoral muscle

Cleveland Browns linebacker Christian Kirksey underwent surgery on Wednesday for a torn pectoral muscle.

The news was first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:

#Browns LB Christian Kirksey recently had surgery to repair the chest injury that led to him being placed on Injured Reserve more than a week ago. While there was some initial thought that he could return, the surgery indicates he's done for the season.

Kirksey suffered the injury during Cleveland’s win against the New York Jets on September 16 and the club placed him on injured reserve on September 21.
