CLEVELAND, Ohio - By now you've heard that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are breaking new ground with a third consecutive matchup in the NBA Finals. Despite all those Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers dynasties, the NBA has managed to avoid trilogies without interruption.
The NBA is the last of the big four (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) to have a trilogy like this. But none of the leagues have had more than one three-year stretch where the same teams played for title.
