Anyone who watched Bruce Arians when he was the Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator should not have been surprised that he called a pass with 2:34 left in Arizona's playoff win over Green Bay.
Anyone who criticizes the call also knows nothing about Arians, his mindset, his belief in his team and his aggressiveness. The call was right in character for the guy who (twice) would have walked to Cleveland to coach the Browns if only he'd been interviewed.
There are too many examples of Arians playing to win, as opposed to not to lose.
Arians once called an end-around to Dennis Northcutt on fourth down inside the 5-yard line against Pittsburgh.
