The Cleveland Browns waived cornerback Robert Jackson on Thursday.
The move was reported by Andrew Gribble, the senior staff writer for the team’s website.
Jackson opened the season on Cleveland’s roster and played on special teams the first two games before being placed on the practice squad. He retired to the active roster in October, and saw a limited amount of playing time until the final weekend of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
That week, with the Browns needing a win to make the playoffs, Jackson was pressed into the lineup after cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson were both placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
