The Cleveland Browns and New York Jets will open the 2015 NFL season today at MetLife Stadium.
Opening day has not been kind to the Browns since the team returned to the NFL in 1999, as the club has gone just 1-14 over that time period.
Head coach Mike Pettine doesn’t have time for a history lesson, however.
“Oh we know, just like we knew last year that it had been 10 home openers in a row,” Pettine said. “We know it, we also know that it doesn’t affect us. That it’s 0-0 and we know we’re going down there to play a very similar football team.
