Friday’s developments
• Rookie Emmanuel Ogbah practiced at end in defensive coordinator Ray Horton’s 3-4, multi-front scheme after spending all of the spring at outside linebacker. The experiment is a reaction to starting defensive end Desmond Bryant being lost for the entire 2016 season earlier this month with a torn pectoral muscle. In the base defense, Xavier Cooper filled Bryant’s spot. Ogbah, the 32nd overall pick, practiced with the backups in base and with the starters in the nickel package.
• ”We’re just trying to find a lot of different combinations now that Des is going to be down to see if we can put our best guys out there, and if [Ogbah] gives us something there, then it’s going to help our football team,” Jackson said.
