BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns signed WR Saalim Hakim (pronounced sah-LEEM ha-KEEM). Hakim participated in the team’s voluntary minicamp last week on a tryout basis. In addition, the team waived TE Chase Ford.
Hakim is 5-11, 190-pounds and is officially in his second NFL season out of Tarleton State and Palomar College. Originally signed by Dallas as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Hakim has appeared in 21 career games with the Jets (19 from 2013-14) and Chiefs (two in 2015). He has returned 13 career kickoffs for 279 yards and a 21.
