Browns sign wide receiver Saalim Hakim

The Browns signed wide receiver Saalim Hakim on Monday after he impressed them last week while participating in their voluntary minicamp on a tryout basis.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Hakim entered the NFL in 2012 as an undrafted rookie with the Dallas Cowboys out of Tarleton State and Palomar College. He has appeared in 21 career games with the New York Jets (19 from 2013-14) and Kansas City Chiefs (two in 2015).

Hakim has returned 13 career kickoffs for 279 yards (21.5 average).

His brother, Az-Zahir, appeared in 110 games with the St. Louis Rams, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints from 1998-2006.
