The Cleveland Browns signed quarterback Pat Devlin on Thursday, giving them five quarterbacks on the 90-man roster. With Connor Shaw having surgery on his thumb last week and Johnny Manziel being ruled out of this Saturday's preseason game due to a sore elbow, though, Cleveland needed another quarterback to serve as a "camp arm" over the next two weeks.
Devlin (6-3, 220 lbs) began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2011. He was with the Dolphins through 2013.
