CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Let the kicking competition begin. The Browns have signed seventh-round pick Zane Gonzalez, a kicker out of Arizona State. He is the fourth rookie from this draft class to sign his deal.
Gonzalez, the 2016 Lou Groza Award winner, will compete with incumbent Cody Parkey for the kicking job this season. The Browns signed Parkey last season after Patrick Murray went out with an injury. Parkey had a strong season following a rocky start in Miami that saw him miss three field goals, including a potential game-winning kick.
Gonzalez finished his college career as the FBS all-time leader in field goals made with 96 and points by a kicker with 494.
