The Browns signed linebacker Everette Brown and defensive back Aaron Ross and waived offensive lineman Joe Madsen and defensive lineman Christian Tupou on Sunday.
The 6-foot-2, 263-pound Brown has appeared in 44 games with Carolina, San Diego, Dallas and Washington, compiling 63 tackles, seven sacks, three passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one interception since being drafted by the Panthers in the second round in 2009.
Brown, 28, has only started three games in his career. He appeared in six games last season with Washington and compiled eight tackles.
The 6-foot, 197-pound Ross has started 52 of the 83 games in which he has appeared with the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars.
