Browns sign defensive backs Najee Murray, Donte Carey after they tried out during rookie minicamp

The Browns signed undrafted defensive backs Najee Murray and Donte Carey on Monday after they participated the past three days in rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

Murray is a cornerback from Kent State University. Carey played safety and cornerback at Grand Valley State.

It made sense for the Browns to bolster their depth at defensive back because cornerback Howard Wilson, a fourth-round draft pick from Houston, suffered a fractured kneecap Friday during the first practice of rookie minicamp. The injury requires surgery, and he'll miss a significant portion of the 2017 season if not the entire year.
