Browns release LB Bryant as suspension ends

CLEVELAND -- The Browns have waived linebacker Armonty Bryant on the first day he was eligible to return from a suspension.

Bryant had been serving a four-game NFL suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. The 26-year-old recently pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted drug possession.

He was also arrested last Christmas along with former Browns defensive back De'Ante Saunders following a traffic stop.

A seventh-round draft pick in 2013, Bryant had 5.5 sacks last season while making two starts and playing in 14 games. He recorded 71 career tackles and 8.
