Browns quarterbacks coach David Lee says DeShone Kizer has great future but is long way away from being ready to start

BEREA: Rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer has phenomenal potential, but he’s not ready to start for the Browns yet.

That’s the assessment new Browns quarterbacks coach David Lee gave Thursday when he spoke about the state of the roster at the game’s most position after the third and final practice of mandatory minicamp.

“Big-play ability -- that’s what that dude’s going to give this football team if he ever becomes the starter one day, and we don’t know that yet,” Lee said. “But the way his ball moves and jumps off his hand and gets to the receiver in a hurry .
