Cleveland Browns quarterback Connor Shaw will undergo surgery on his right thumb, the team announced Sunday, and he is expected to miss the entire season.
Shaw suffered the injury to his throwing hand in the Browns' preseason opener on Thursday.
“I feel for Connor because he has worked extremely hard,” Browns head coach Mike Pettine said in a statement. “He's a competitor and has had a great offseason and a good camp so far.
