Browns promote linebacker Cam Johnson from practice squad, cut running back Daryl Richardson

The Browns signed linebacker Cam Johnson to the active roster from the practice squad and waived running back Daryl Richardson.

They also cut undrafted rookie free safety De'Ante Saunders from the practice squad.

The Browns announced the moves Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 268-pound Johnson, who's in his third NFL season, has spent the past 13 weeks on the Browns' practice squad. A seventh-round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, Johnson appeared in two games with the 49ers in 2012 and 13 games with the Indianapolis Colts from 2013-14. He has registered three career tackles on defense and five special-teams stops.
