Browns practice squad player De'Ante Saunders pleaded not guilty Monday to operating a vehicle impaired and speeding.
The plea was entered via a fax sent to Berea Municipal Court by an attorney, according to the clerk of courts' office. Saunders is awaiting a new court date.
Saunders, an undrafted rookie safety, and outside linebacker Armonty Bryant were arrested early Christmas morning after a traffic stop. As a result, the Browns made Bryant inactive Sunday in a 17-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Saunders, 23, was stopped by State High way Patrol Sgt. Cliff Dowell on Interstate 71 in Brook Park at 2:16 a.
