Browns outside linebacker Scott Solomon is expected to miss four to six weeks with an injured ankle, ESPN reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed source.
The report doesn't indicate whether Solomon suffered a high-ankle sprain, though four to six weeks is the standard timetable for return from the injury.
The Browns were counting on Solomon to help their run defense, which ranked last in the NFL in 2014, by setting the edge. He was listed as the starter opposite Paul Kruger.
But Solomon suffered the injury while making a tackle during the fourth play from scrimmage in Sunday's season-opening, 31-10 loss to the New York Jets.
