CLEVELAND, Ohio -- When Browns head coach Hue Jackson sent rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer to the bench for the team's game in Houston, many took the opportunity to lambaste Jackson for his decision on multiple fronts. Much of it was fair. Jackson had chosen Kizer to start and it seemed extreme to yank a 21-year-old in and out of the lineup, especially considering that, against the Jets, it was two missed field goals that did him in as much as anything else.
That said, Kizer's multiple benchings have been as much his own doing, as it was becoming apparent that he was holding the ball, missing open receivers and, as Jackson pointed out, turning the ball over.
