CINCINNATI: Coming in with the third-highest scoring average in the league, the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense didn’t need any help.
But Browns defensive end Randy Starks provided it, anyway.
The 12-year veteran committed two crucial penalties that kept alive a Bengals’ second-quarter touchdown drive in their 31-10 victory over the Browns Thursday night in Paul Brown Stadium.
The Bengals led 7-3 and took over at their 20 with 11:16 remaining in the second period. Starks slammed down running back Giovani Bernard after a 1-yard gain, then stood over Bernard, drawing a 15-yard penalty for taunting.
Asked if the referees made the right call, Starks said, “I’ll have to see it.
