BEREA: Travis Coons thinks he’ll be able to kick for the Browns this weekend despite dealing with a groin injury, but the Browns have a contingency plan they can fall back on if his gut feeling betrays him.

Coach Mike Pettine said the team worked out kickers Friday and has one on standby. He said the emergency backup might travel to Seattle, where the Browns (3-10) will face the Seahawks (8-5) at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.

“I’ve got to go in and see [head athletic trainer] Joe [Sheehan] and just see where he is with Travis, how Travis feels,” Pettine said after practice.
