BEREA: Browns outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo was scheduled to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday on a torn meniscus, a source familiar with the situation told the Beacon Journal.
The source spoke on condition of anonymity because the Browns have yet to discuss details of the surgery. The team did confirm the surgery would take place.
The timetable for Mingo’s return is expected to be three to four weeks, the source said. In other words, Mingo could miss all four preseason games.
The injury occurred in a recent practice, the source said. Mingo practiced Tuesday before sitting out Wednesday for the first time since camp started.
