CLEVELAND: After being put on notice by their position coach, Browns running backs Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West didn’t do anything during the preseason opener Thursday night to alleviate concerns about the offense’s ground attack.

Crowell started and rushed for 6 yards on four carries (1.5 average), and West rushed for 10 yards on four carries (2.5 average) in the Browns’ 20-17 loss to Washington at FirstEnergy Stadium. Those aren’t ideal numbers for an offense whose mission statement is to rely heavily on the running game.

“I don’t feel like we struggled with anything,” Crowell said.
