BEREA: The Browns hoped journeyman outside linebacker Scott Solomon would become a breakout player this season and play a crucial role in fixing their run defense after it ranked last in the NFL in 2014.
Unfortunately, injuries interfere with expectations sometimes.
Solomon suffered a sprained ankle Sunday during the opening series against the New York Jets, and Browns coach Mike Pettine said Wednesday he would “be out at least a couple weeks.” Earlier, ESPN reported Solomon, listed as the starter opposite Paul Kruger, would miss four to six weeks.
The Browns surrendered 154 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries (4.
