Browns 10-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas thinks the franchise ought to enlist someone from its own backyard if it chooses to draft a quarterback April 27.
Thomas identified Mentor native Mitchell Trubisky as his pick for the head of this year’s quarterback class during a radio interview Thursday with 92.3 The Fan.
North Carolina’s Trubisky and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson are widely considered the top-rated incoming rookie quarterbacks with Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer and Texas Tech’s Patrick Mahomes in the mix, too.
“I know that Mitchell Trubisky is probably the guy that has the most upside potential in a pro-style offense in the NFL, and I don’t see those other guys as obvious fits in NFL offenses,” Thomas said.
