BEREA: Browns General Manager Ray Farmer voiced support for quarterback Johnny Manziel during a pre-draft news conference Thursday and insisted he didn’t attempt to ship the former Heisman Trophy winner to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Two weeks ago, BleacherReport.com’s Jason Cole cited an unnamed source in the Browns’ organization while reporting the franchise discussed trading Manziel and draft picks to the Eagles as part of a potential deal for quarterback Sam Bradford. Cole also reported the Eagles weren’t really interested in making a move for Manziel.
“No, that’s not true,” Farmer said of the report.
