BEREA: A day after Browns coach Mike Pettine said the franchise might need to add a running back because of injuries, he revealed the team will actually stand pat at the position heading into its preseason finale Thursday night at Chicago.
“For the immediate future, for this week, we are not [going to add a running back],” Pettine said Monday after practice. “We will wait and see.”
The Browns will wait to find out much time rookie running back Duke Johnson is expected to miss with the concussion he suffered Saturday in a 31-7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
