Browns notebook: Coach Hue Jackson says ‘all signs are pointing’ to QB Josh McCown starting Sunday vs. Jets

BEREA: Browns coach Hue Jackson expects quarterback Josh McCown to return to the starting lineup at home Sunday against the New York Jets.

“All signs are pointing in that direction,” Jackson said Thursday. “He had another good practice today and worked hard. So I think we’re really trending that way right now.”

McCown fully participated in practice the past two days, and rookie quarterback Cody Kessler remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol after suffering a concussion Sunday in a 31-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jackson has yet to rule out Kessler against the Jets (2-5), but it’ll almost certainly happen.
