Browns notebook: Coach Hue Jackson defends quarterback Josh McCown for fumbles lost on sacks

CLEVELAND: Browns coach Hue Jackson doesn’t want “sack, fumble, touchdown” to come in the next breath after quarterback Josh McCown’s name is mentioned.

After a 27-13 loss to the New York Giants at FirstEnergy Stadium, Jackson defended his quarterback after he lost two fumbles Sunday, one setting up a crucial touchdown.

“They had some big turnovers at some key times against us. Josh McCown is playing as hard as he can play. He’s battling,” Jackson said. “There’s nothing he can do about the sack-fumbles. As he’s starting to throw he’s getting hit and the ball comes out.
