BEREA: The Browns experienced a monumental scare Monday when eight-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas suffered a right leg injury late in practice, but the organization appears to have dodged a bullet.
After Thomas had been evaluated by the team’s medical staff, the Browns announced Monday evening the injury “is not believed to be serious.” Coach Mike Pettine made the same assessment hours earlier in his post-practice news conference.
Thomas didn’t even undergo an MRI on Monday because the medical staff’s initial thought was the injury wasn’t serious enough to warrant the test, a source familiar with the situation told the Beacon Journal.
