For four seasons, the Cleveland Browns have run a timing-based, zone-run scheme offense under HC Kevin Stefanski. The detail-oriented coach looked to put players in positions to succeed with accuracy and alignment within the scheme.
The Browns offense was pretty simple when it came to formations and setup. Stefanski’s goal was always to make runs look like passes and passes look like runs. Or both. Two tight ends or an extra offensive lineman was the primary personnel grouping in Cleveland.
The scheme did a great job of keeping the floor of production higher than most.
