The sweepstakes for Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson appear to be in full swing, and as of Tuesday afternoon, the Browns were pursuing him "most aggressively" in their search for a head coach, NFL Network's Michael Silver, a good friend of Jackson, reported.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is not at the NFL owners meetings Tuesday in Houston, presumably because he's wrapped up in the coaching search. Haslam's wife, Dee, is also an owner, and she's attending the meetings in his place, a source familiar with the situation confirmed.
As of Monday night, the Browns had yet to offer Jackson a contract to become their eighth head coach since 1999 and the sixth since 2008, but that doesn't mean they won't do it.
