How close is IRON MAN Joe Thomas to breaking the consecutive snaps streak in NFL history for any position? As far as linemen go, I can only remember possibly Ron Yary and Jackie Slater. -- Bill C., Strasburg, Virginia

That’s a tricky question because NFL statisticians didn’t track consecutive snaps played throughout a large part of the league’s history. As it stands now, Thomas’ streak of 9,737 snaps is the longest known streak in NFL history.
