According to Ian Rapoport, the Browns interviewed former Bills GM Doug Whaley for their GM position before hiring John Dorsey on Thursday.
The Browns reportedly interviewed other candidates for the job as well, but those names aren’t available.
Cleveland had to fulfill the Rooney Rule requirements and interview a minority candidate before hiring Dorsey. It took them only 11 hours to announce the firing of Sashi Brown and that they’ve added Dorsey has his replacement, which caused some to wonder how they met these requirements.
Last night, John Wooten, chairman of Fritz Pollard Alliance, told Adam Schefter that he is concerned about Browns’ hiring process.
