Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson checks off boxes the Browns should consider invaluable as they search for their next head coach.
He has previous experience as an NFL head coach. He has successfully developed quarterbacks. He knows the AFC North well.
The Browns confirmed they interviewed Jackson on Sunday for the head-coaching vacancy owner Jimmy Haslam created when he fired Mike Pettine Jan. 3 along with General Manager Ray Farmer.
The only obvious problem is it’s not a sure thing the Browns will be able to secure Jackson.
Before he met with them for about three-and-a-half hours, he had a five-hour interview earlier Sunday with the San Francisco 49ers, NFL Network reported.
